  Because there are several ways of getting to Venice on the Orient Express. So, say you go by the route of being a pioneer or an elder, missionary, Bethel worker, Governing Body member or whatever - you are prominent. Therefore, you get to Venice being prominent.
  

  But not everyone can do these things. If you cannot do these things, you have to get to Venice by a different route. You'll get there ok but you'll have to clean the toilets. That's the other route, the toilet cleaning route. If you don't get to clean the toilets, don't worry there's plenty of other non-prominent tasks that'll get you to Venice.

  Yes they are guilty. The final talk I went to was about how being in the 'truth' (cough, splutter) is like being on the Orient Express.

  But, in Agatha Christie's book, The Orient Express, all on board were murderers.

  Guilt by association. If you are in it you are supporting it. My suggestion - get off at the next stop.

  One who used to be in an Italian congregation told me about a sister who's husband was very cruel to her. He was being groomed to be an elder. So the other elders protected him.
  

  The sister turned to the elders for support but they gaslighted her - effectively telling her she was imagining it all, she was not perceiving things correctly.
  

  She was not allowed to talk about it. But the one from Italy told me that her eyes kept looking at him pleading, yearing and in earnest as if saying 'these people are mad.'

  He did not know how to help her. He was still new to it all, and did not stay for very long. But he recognized that look. He knew something was seriously wrong.
  

  To this day the memory of her eyes remain with him. She killed herself.

  Yes and you have to ask apostate to what?

  By WT's standards Jehovah is the biggest apostate closely followed by Jesus Christ.

  And if you get df'd for sticking to God's Word - you can only return IF you repent.

  According to J Schnell who wrote 30 Years a Watchtower Slave they only use a very small percentage of the Bible on which to base their doctrine. You question the way they have cobbled together their values, identity and authority and you are out.

  This is me interviewing the sister who got disfellowshipped for asking the elders about child abuse. Her name is Christine - she did nothing wrong. She is a genuine Christian who was concerned about wrong doing. Her conscience was troubled by the thought that she was part of an organisation that was covering over child abuse.
  

  My view is that the screws are being tightened. Anyone seriously questioning the GB, their integrity and identity, is being put under pressure to neither listen to criticism nor express criticism of them. Those who are not afraid to express the concerns they have about the GB are removed.

  i have a very good friend who has been banned from facebook simply because he makes remarks positive about president trump and negative toward the democratic party.

  he has tried to get back on facebook and it appears there is no way for him to return.

  people are being removed from social media platforms simply because they have a different political view.

  1925 – Propaganda - a book written by Edward Bernays. He was Freud's nephew. It is about the engineering of consent. As the country becomes more democratic, you cannot run it like you used to, as a private club so you have to control what people think. Therefore, the public relations industry started. Leading figures were from the Creel Commission. Edward Bernays was the leading light and he was hired to make Rockerfeller's image look better. In this time period the word 'propaganda' just meant 'information'. Bernays applies the lessons of the first World War. During that period the propaganda (information) system showed that it is possible to "regiment the public mind every bit as much as an army regiments their bodies." These new techniques of regimentation of minds, he said, had to be used by the intelligent minorities in order to make sure that the "slobs" stay on the right course.

  I was disfellowshipped for saying Dan 1:1 really did mean the 3rd year of Jehoiakim's rulership and that Dan 2:1 really did mean the 2nd year of Nebuchadnezzar's rulership.

  A friend was df'd for asking the elders about the child abuse issues and was disfelloshipped without even being told about it. She was 79 years old. This happened last year just before she had a major operation. So when her ex-cong members see her limping in a shop they are supposed to shun her rather than offer to help carry her shopping. Or smile or speak kindly to her.

  Facebook and Twitter are platforms - the ones who hold the rights own it and if you agree to their terms and conditions, you agree. It's just like WT. WT owns it's platform.
  

  If you take part in it you add weight to it. If you leave it, it becomes more light weight.

  Of course it does depend exactly what you are weighing.

  Disfellowhipped for not wearing facemask?

  but they have called a judicial and from what i can tell refusing to wear a facemask is bothering them more than the person not turning up.. so is this new light?

  if you have been called to a judical please remember to stay safe and wear your personal protective equimpment.

  Drearyweather - something similar happened to me. When they really have nothing on you they actually leave you alone. If you are questioning their doctrine from a scriptural point of view they become toothless and seek to avoid you. They ignore you up to a point.

  Yes there were personal reasons this why this one chose not to go until this point. And yes of course, in reality this one will leave them, not the other way around. FYI the person has influence locally, is much loved and deeply respected.

  Because it is recognised that elders have not framed policies, kindness has been extended to them. We know they have their apostate rifles out. As usual they are aiming at their own heads. Kind encouragement has been given not to pull the trigger but, I bet you one red Smartie they pull it.

  Balaammsass2 - yes locally using that logic someone has even come up with the 3 witness rule. Leave it long enough maybe they'll have a 144k witness rule.
  

  Overrate - this person is not afraid of what these sad, misguided men are going to do. They are pitiable but they are behaving outrageously. This one tried to help them as a shepherd tries to help a lost sheep. Truely Christian and moved by profound concern for their well being. All to no avail at the moment.

  Yes this is way more than on speakerphone - the person is right out in the open with it. If they'd wanted to, I expect the whole body of elders could have listened in.
  

  The elders were professing to offer 'help'. Not that anyone believed they were trying to help. But kindness was extended to them, to allow them to reason on the scriptures and consider the steps they were taking.

  But their 'help' proved to be ensuring the loyalty questions had NOT been answered correctly. Once they had checked that (which they had know for ages) they decided to call a judicial at the KH wearing face masks.
